A sofa bed’s overall width does not tell you how large its bed will be. For everyday sleeping, compare three separate measurements: the closed sofa, the usable sleeping surface and the footprint of the fully opened mechanism.
Three measurements for your floor plan
Mark the sofa’s outline when closed, then draw it fully open. Record sleeping width and length separately. The same sleeping surface can fit into sofas of different widths because arms and mechanisms take up space. This distinction matters especially in a narrow living room.
A practical check before choosing
- Check whether a quoted 200 cm refers to the sleeping surface or the sofa body.
- Make sure doors can open and you can walk past the extended bed.
- Record the exact version, arm style and sleeping dimensions in the order.

The two-seat ELBEKO catalogue specifies a 200 × 140 cm sleeping surface. Overall width with arms A/B/C is 197/207/182 cm. The small two-seat version is a different configuration with a 200 × 120 cm sleeping surface. A 14 cm mattress is described; confirm the selected specification in your order.

Do all two-seat sofa beds have the same sleeping dimensions?
No. Seat count is not a sleeping-size standard. Even the small and regular two-seat versions of one model can have different beds.
